M2 (U20): Justify the choice of planned components by targeted media sector.


My group and I have chosen to do three different kind of adverts, the three types we have decided to for and create is a television advert, a billboard advert and a magazine advert. We feel that these three forms of advertisement will be the most effective way to reach out to our target audiences. The reason for having three different kinds of advertisement is because it was what our client Carter Soft Drinks had put in their client brief for us to do. 

The first advertisement my group and I had chose to do was a billboard advert. The reason for this is because Carter Soft Drinks provided us with two target audiences, they wanted teens as well as adults in their thirties/forties who would enjoy the retro styled drink. My group and I decided that a billboard would be a good idea and would be effective for the demographic of the adults as most of them will be able to drive and will drive past many billboards throughout their journeys as well as this the adults could have teenage kids with them in the car who might also see the drink, for this reason my group and I felt that a billboard ad would be very effective and we would be able to aim it directly at our target audience so they will be able to see it when they are out and about. 

The next form of advertisement my group and I had to decided to use was advertising through magazine ads, we decided that this would be an effective form of advertisement and would help massively. Magazines in print copies are read more by our older target demographic however teenagers have now begun to use converging technology when it comes to magazines and they are now able to subscribe and read them via Snapchat rather than having to go out and buy a print copy. This is good as it allows us to target both demographics. As well as this it is important that we made sure the colour of Phizzwizard would catch the customers eye within the magazine and make sure it had vibrant colours so the customer would be able to see it and it would stand out to them and make them more attracted to the product.

Lastly, the last form of advertisement we decided to go for was a video ad, overall we felt that it would be very effective to have a television ad as they are the adverts which usually generates the most customers out of all the forms of advertisement we use. It is a good form of advertisement as both ages of our demographic watch TV and Youtube and we will be able to place the advert on air at times where there would family shows on so both demographics would be watching at the same time as a family. We decided to go for a stop motion advert as it is very unique and it allowed us to create more of a story and a character behind the can so the audience could be more involved. Stop motion adverts are classic and will be appealing to both ages of the demographic. As well as this my group and I decided to go for Charlie Chaplin music as it will be able to connect with the older demographic along with this it will create the retro atmosphere we are looking for.

Colour scheme is very important within this advertising campaign. My group and I decided to go with red and pink colours as these are very vibrant and will catch the eye of our target audience and just people in the general public. With putting the colour scheme in all three adverts customers will be able to see the pattern through out and when they begin to go out when they see adverts in them colours it will just automatically trigger in their brain that it is Phizzwizard, this will mean the colour scheme and the advertising campaign would have been successful.

As our slogan my group and I have decided to go with 'Phizz up your life' this will bring a good atmosphere throughout the demographics. The slogan will have a strawberry lace wrapped around it to remind people of the retro genre and allow them to think back to when they were younger and enjoyed strawberry laces and will make them want to by the drink.
